Changing the Way We Communicate

The creation of this blog was inspired by many things. The need to communicate effectively with our community is first and foremost in my mind. As you can see in our November newsletter, Sr. Janet has been exploring and trying out many new "virtual tools" to communicate with parents as well as members of our faculty.

The Office of Catholic Education has encouraged many of us to embrace various technologies; not only to improve communication with all our stakeholders, but also to immerse ourselves in some of the experiences that our students partake of on a daily basis. Sr. Janet and I as well as Ms. Spadaro, Mr. Campbell, Mr. DiNenna, and Mrs. Wigoff are all part of a Virtual Learning Community with members of the other 19 Archdiocesan high schools. This learning environment is similar to the "MySpace" and "Facebook" accounts that students have. All of us have had interesting experiences getting used to this new method of communication and sharing. While we all have different learning curves during this journey, we all agree that the possibilities are endless for what these capabilities hold for education.

Excellent. I also started a blog for AP Calc and I am looking into it for some of my other courses. It seems to be going well.
